Rather than waiting around for the dough to rise, you can satisfy your doughnut craving with these biscuit doughnuts. The best thing about these delicious treats is that you only need a few ingredients and a can of store-bought biscuit dough. So, let's get started on making these scrumptious biscuit doughnuts!

- 16.3 oz Grands! Biscuit One can of biscuits
- Canola Oil approx 2-3 inches of oil, enough to float the doughnuts
Glaze
- 1 cup Sifted Powdered Sugar
- 3 Tbsp Milk
- 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
- Sprinkles Optional
Instructions
- Step 1: Heat the Oil
- Begin by pouring about 2-3 inches of canola oil into a deep, heavy-bottomed pot. I usually use my cast iron pan. Heat the oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test if the oil is ready two ways. 1. you can drop a small piece of dough into it. If it sizzles and bubbles, you're good to go. 2. Place one end of a chopstick or bamboo skewer into the oil. I usally use a take out chopstick. If the bamboo chopsticks start to bubble the oil is ready.
- Step 2: Make the Glaze
- While the oil is heating, you can prepare the glaze. Make sure to sift your powder sugar to get the little lumps out. If you don't habe a sifter you can use a fne mesh strainer and work the sugar through it manually. In a bowl, combine the sifted powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until you have a smooth, thick glaze. If it's too thick, add a little more milk; if it's too thin, add more powdered sugar.
- Step 3: Prepare the Biscuits
- While the oil is heating up, open the can of biscuits. Separate the biscuits and use a small round cutter (about 1 inches in diameter I use a shot glass) to cut out the centers. These will become your doughnut holes.
- Step 4: Fry the Biscuits
- Gently place the biscuit doughnut into the hot oil. I always start with the doughnut holes, this way if I over heated the oil I only burn the little guys, Be cautious not to overcrowd the pot; I usally will need to fry them in 3 batches. Fry each side for 1-2 minutes or until they turn a beautiful golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove the doughnuts from the oil and place them on a cooling rack with a cloth or paper towel positioned underneath to catch the excess oil.
- Step 5: Glaze the Doughnuts
- As soon as the doughnuts have cooled for a few minutes (but not cold), dip the warm doughnuts into the glaze, making sure they are coated evenly. You can use a fork or tongs to help with this. Place the glazed doughnuts back on the cooling wire rack to allow any excess glaze to drip off onto the paper towel. If you like, add some colorful sprinkles for that classic doughnut look. We just like to keep it simple sans sprinkles.
- *Or for a simple finish you can put 1 cup granulated sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon in a gallon ziplock bag, shake, and enjoy!
- Step 6: Enjoy!
